Callum Cairns is Little Rivers
Born in Belfast from jazz clarinet and a fascination with poetry, Little Rivers began as a tentative response to the end of a first love. With support slots for Soak and Rams' Pocket Radio, the quiet releases of both the We, I EP and the eponymous follow up attracted national recognition alongside a growing boldness and depth of songwriting.
Following four years immersed in Liverpool's electronic music scene, amongst the lights and bursts of colour, the Weights EP was a response to the blossoming of new love.
The release of the Doldrum EP takes this interest in electronics further, learning and refining the art of a soundscape while retaining the art of lyricism. In balancing intimacy and intensity, the release sets tender emotions within a world of textured sound, and frames questions about a rapidly approaching future with doubts about it's foundations.
A creative hub.
